part 3/3
Pavlos delayed a bit at the top, and took a nice sequence of me riding down the Stelvio...
At some point, I stopped by the side of the road, and returned the favor... but not so well, as can be seen! However, we both duly enjoyed it...
And then Pavlos disappeared up front, but anyway we 're not in a hurry, right?!
Then, after about 34 tornanti, and still at around 1800 m. altitude, according to the GPS, Pavlos was there taking pics!
He even took the time to add the Stelvio sticker!
There's a long way to the way down, Trafoi, Stelvio, Prato, Merano... I think the tornanti going down to the east side of the Stelvio are around 55... But then again... who really cares?!
As always, and since we were once again entering Trentino Adige territory, we were quite late for dinner! Signor Zozzo however, and his family were patiently waiting for us!
Thanks to the GPS, we did ONLY 3 u-turns into Trento, until we found his waypoint "ZozzoHM"!!!
We went for that lovely pizza again, had a couple of beers, a lovely gelato behind the Duomo, and finally we took one more round of the pics at his home office...
Back to the start of the trip
What's next? We woke up quite early (7.30am!), packed, Zozzo escorted us almost to the autostrada quickly and we headed south, towards Ancoma. We made it with time to spare, at 14.30, while the boat was scheduled for 5pm.
Pavlos got stuck in 3-4 traffic jams, but even so we did quite some good progress: 445km in 6 hrs exactly! Not bad at all, indeed! On the way to Ancona, we passed besides a Porsche with British license plates but obviously Greek passengers and we waved at each other! How did I know they were Greeks? They had a big Greek flag stuck out their sunroof!!!!!
So... a few more pics, on Greek soil this time and away we are!
