Part 4/4
So, Sven-Erik and Ingemar decided to offer us their second special gift for EP9: The Herring. They came prepared with a bucket full of water, where Svempa cleaned the little fish, then offered small pieces to everyone, accompanied by that special crusty bread. I brought a couple bottles of Ouzo, which disappeared very quickly, as well, and I think there was some grappa too!
I think it was raining too, but I'm not so sure, right now!
The fish was tasting damn good, despite the horrible smell in the air. Thank God it was an open space. A small problem might appear in the following days, not to us, but to the owner of the poor Fiat next to the party... You see, everyone spitted the small needle-bones of the fish, and as if by incident most of them landed on the nearby Fiat. Its owner must have wondered what the heck was that awful smell on his car, for the next few days... but... this is not really our problem, right?! It's his!
I only hope that the rumor heard that the spitted herring bones are not producing instant rust on Fiats... Do you believe such rumors?!!!! Not me!
Brave Jeff even held the can of herrings with his hand!!!!!!!!!!
Alex sent the bad smell away with a sip of ouzo!
Gabi and Gina had different views! Gabi in fact tasted it! Gina didn't! Your loss Gina!
Bruno tried to clean his hands, but the wind took the roll away! Anyway, it would need a LOT more cleaning to take that smell off you, than mere toilet paper!
Despite the looks on our faces, we ALL enjoyed the Herring fish!
