Costas Lacafossis has been racing R/C cars for years. He has been the Greek Champion in 1/10 electric 4WD buggies in 1988. However, these days, he prefers full scale automotive, while never forgetting his old love: R/C cars! A few weeks ago he took part at one rally sprint race, at Korinthos. His result?
He came 12th among 17 racers. This is no laughing matter, however, since almost all the other racers have at least one year's experience with this car and most of them race cars for years...
Just to remind what this is all about: The Cinquecento Trofeo is a one-make one-model race series, run nationally in several European countries, with one last Grand Final at the end of the season.
The cars are based on the normal 899 cc Cinquecento, but have undergone serious mods, such as:
The engine produces around 55 HP at/or above 7000 rpm! Don't talk for torque, anyway. The motor is too small for this kind of thing! The suspension is altered with aftermarket goodies, such as Bilstein and Eibach and the brakes are supplied by none other than Brembo! The seats and the steering wheel are from Momo, the wheels are Speedlines 6X13 and the tires are various racing Michelins, according to the race. See you Trofeo Guys at the next Race!!!
