Correcting the right knob positions on the MK6 Climatic!!!

First,a little history!

when I first did this retrofit of the MK6 HVAC front panel, I realized that the right knob, the one that changes the positions that the air comes out of the dashboard was not working properly...

For example, when it showed "UP", in fact I should turn the knob to where the aluminum cover notch shows, so the air goes "UP"!

so, I disassembled the panel itself to see what's in there!

Unclipping two tabs at the edges, and after we removed five T10 screws, it opens, unclipping the middle knob in the process...

The PCB...

There's the interior temp sensor, as well... Just one. The other black tab on the front is... fake!

It's a little tricky to remove this one... It's not difficult, though...

Practically, what I did was move the white clipped gear...

five teeth to the right, each time...

then, reassembly, plug it in and test, until I managed to find the correct position of the white gear: I did 7 tests and it finally worked!

Turning the white gear, I also turned the potentiometer, into which the gear slots, so it fits the gear's new position!
This way, I managed, after a lot of testing to make it show the correct position!

Ready!

The next, and final, stage is to install two temperature sensors: One in the dashboard (practically on the left airway, right above the fuses, where there's already a hole in the airway, waiting for said sensor) and another one on the footwell airway, right above the foot pedals.

Why should I do this? Because from completely "mechanical" the AC becomes semi-automatic, and it works exactly the way it works on the MK6!

Anyway, there are two faults showing exactly this:

                    Fault Frequency: 1

The procedure seems to be quite simple (well...nothing is simple, anyway, ever!)
We have to find two sensors, their plugs, cabling long enough to reach the back of the Climatic panel and in the end connect these to specific pins in the back of the panel. Easy peasy!

We did it! We put ONE sensor!!!!
