Adding 2 (in fact 1!!) sensors to the Climatic!!!

One evening, I was reading this forum www.golfmk6.com. It seems there are two kinds of MK6 climatics! The manual and the semi-autos. Mine, being a MK5 but also a Trendline one, I am sure is the poor one the Manual.

Well, as you recall, I have these two faults:

The first and the third fault brought me some headache! And it's what "missing", as said in the above forum to make a manual AC into a semi-auto!
The second fault remains, since the AC panel is newer than my CECM, which by the way is the newer and richer (Highline) that you can find in a MK5. But, everyone knows that in the MK6 the CECM and the CCCM are united into one module, the BCM. I guess they saved a few kilos of wiring harness in the process!
Anyway, finishing with the theories, I guess that since the Climatic does not communicate with a MK6 BCM, shows this "Function Restricted due to missing messages". ΟΚ, we will survive!!!

So... new order of parts:

Plugs, pins, two sensors.

Lets go to the car...

I open the side panel: Ooops! There is my sensor there already!

It's clipped on. I remove it, check the part number. Correct!
Ok, so far, I lost... 8.48 euros for the sensor I bought but I already had! In fact, I removed the old sensor and mounted the new one!

So... let's see under there if we do have the other sensor too! This should be fun!

At first glance the airway looks like it does not have a sensor!

Out comes the airway...

Carefully cutting and testing the sensor for fit...

It fits perfectly and does not move around!

This is how it looks inside the airway...

Time to create a harness... I have lots of spare cables...

On the plug it says which pin is 1 and which is 2.

I covered it with fabric tape, labelled the pin 1 with a paper masking tape, until we mount it in the car.

There it is on the footwell airway! All is ready!

Meanwhile... Peter Pan or whatever!

Let's go to the car. The airway was mounted in place in 1 minute. Out came the frame, the AC panel and from the pedals area I pushed the cable to the back of the AC panel.

The AC panel has three plugs.

Night came early! Let's get some light!

Before connecting, we find where the pins should go: Pin 1 will be spliced with pin 8 and the pin 2 will go to the empty space 4 in the 16-pin plug.

Here, pin 8 is out of position for a little while. The pin 4 (the yellow cable here) has already been soldered etc...

So, the plug is ready with the new pins. Again, some fabric tape to cover the voids, but also to unite the old harness with the new ones, os they do not rattle a lot in there!
