Back to Naxos port, for yet another night out!

The "Veggera" bar. Lovely 80's music!

No no! We didn't get drunk....

... we even found our way home!

The obligatory visit to the local Citrus liquor makers.

At lunch we noticed these fish out in the sun. We asked why? They told us, they are better than cooked, if they stay and "cook slowly" in the sun!

Once again at the Portara, ready to leave Naxos this time.

The Portara in all its magnitude. It seems this formation of the three marbles is the door of an ancient gigantic temple. Some say it was built to the name of ancient god Apollon. Just notice a tourist walking at the left of the pic. The temple was built around the 6th century BC on the isle of Palatia, which nowadays is connected to the main island with a narrow strip of land. Portara means "great door" in Greek. One can enjoy a gracious sunset, maybe one of the most beautiful in the Greek islands. Greek mytholoy says that this small isle is where Theseus left Ariadne, on his way back to Athens, coming from Crete, who was later discovered by Greek God Dionyssus, who managed to get married to her! Amazing Greek History!

As we said above, the Naxian sunset is always lovely!

... enjoy!

So long Naxos!
Thanks for the lovely Honeymoon!
