but... we decided to make this weekend a day... Longer!
So... we stayed on Monday too!
Today is devoted to Pithagorio and surroundings...

and.... what best way to start your Monday, than a good game of... backgammon?! hehe!
Just a mile outside Pithagorio, and on the hillside, above it, is Panagia Spiliani...
The view from up here is really beautiful!
(spilia=cave, get it?) The little church inside the monastery, was built into the cave, circa 1880.

Monday afternoon... 5pm, its about time for us to leave beautiful Pithagorio, and head for Karlovasi... to catch the boat back to Piraeus/Athens port.

One last look to the neighboring shores...
On approaching Vathi, the island's capital... we see the boat is still there... (It will leave Vathi at 6pm, and it will be at Karlovasi, at around 7.30pm. I still got time to make the 30 or so km's to Karlovasi (20 mi.). We can see the boat, down at Vathi port...
...and at last... it enters Karlovasi port, to take us to a 12hrs night sail to Piraeus!
