MK6 Climatic heater controls retrofit!!!!!

There was a lot of laughter here, but after everything was disassembled!

Everything is ready. Even my most favorite tools the sledge and hammer. You never know!

My friend Makis, who owns a Golf MK6, also came for help in the morning. His car is equipped with the dual zone clima, so I didn't look at it for ideas, because it's totally different... In other words the MK6 got lucky! I didn't touch it!!!

According to the instructions of the English friend (I emphasize this, because it matters!), we start disassembling the interior...

...on the right side! He says "remove the glovebox". so we did... But first we disconnected the minus on the battery, because there is something airbag related on the glovebox.

We found the Central Convenience module. In case you ever wondered where it is: Here!

Something is wrong, though. In the video, the gear lays on the right side of the GLOVEBOX!!!! But here it is on the left!

And not only that! It's different altogether! What's going on here?!

And then we realized (Makis, actually!) Hey man! The British car is right hand drive. So when they remove the glovebox, that sits on the left side of the car! And we are looking for it on the right side of the dashboard!!!!!!!

So, we remove the radio and the climatic panel...

The sledgehammer ia always useful...

We removed the frame behind the radio, so we have plenty of room...

Whatever we remove, we stash on the dashboard... after that fills, we throw them away... in the back seat!

smoke break... to think about how to proceed...

So, let's go on the left side...

We removed the instrument cluster. Anyway, we have removed the battery minus...

There's the notorious gear, through the hole that the instrument cluster left in the dashboard!

We removed the one half of the gear (It's imperative that you watch the video, right?)

Push here, pull there, we managed to unclip the half of the gear!

We clicked the black half on the white half, we mounted the servomotor as well...

Down there deep in the shadows there's that blue connector, that sits on the servo that sits on the gear...

A close up!

And then he says... hehe... mount all three bolts! Well... I looked it up, out o curiosity in the manual! so, it says: Remove the upper dashboard!!!! Yeah right! We will mount one bolt and god help the servo motor!!!!

So, what's left? To create a harness and connect the servo motor to the front of the climate controls...
