We ride more north to the picturesque fishing village of Apollon.

Due to the late summer time we went, it was almost deserted. However, Apollon is full of life during all summer.

We had a lovely greek coffee there.

Just above Apollon is one of the most famous statues of Greece. Kouros, is lying on the place where it was made. It measures about 15 meters "height", and according to the tradition it was made as an offer to the King Minos of Crete island. The statue is dated around the 6th Century BC. It's made of the famous Naxian marble, and was never removed from the site it was made.

This pic shows the sheer size of Kouros. You just can't help but feel amazed at the sight of the statue.

Back at Naxos port, also called Chora locally, its again time for a night out.

Next morning, along with breakfast at the beach, a game or two of BG. Guess who..... won?! ;-)

The emblem of Naxos, is called Portara, and it's right behind us, situated at a small island just 100 meters north of the port. More on it in a moment.
